OVERSEE THE SAFE AND TIMELY EXECUTION AND COMPLETION OF ROV PROJECTS, ENSURING COMPLIANCE WITH SAFETY PROCEDURES AND REGULATIONS.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Where the contract does not include the position of a ROV Superintendent then all of the following is relevant:
*Total responsibility for the management of the ROV system.
*To be conversant with all items and conditions of contract.
*Ensure that the ROV, support equipment and crew are competent to undertake the tasks required.
*Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed and filed as required by the contract and Quality Assurance System.
*Assist in the preparation of all required documentation.
*Ensure that operations are run in a professional and cost effective manner.
*Ensure that the system is demobilised in such a condition that is always ready for contract.
*Continual assessment and training of all team members and informing the Project Manager of any short comings in team members and recommendations for future training.
*Set up and organise where necessary, the appropriate paperwork system as per Operations Procedure Manual.
Operational:
*Brief all relevant personnel prior to every dive.
*Ensure the safe navigation of the ROV during other subsea operations, in order to prevent entanglement.
*Terminate any operation if, for any reason, it is considered unsafe to continue. If in doubt refer to the Insurance Warranties.
Safety:
*Ensure safety meetings are conducted as laid down in the Safe Operating Procedures.
*Ensure the safety of all personnel and equipment.
*Ensure that all relevant personnel are fully aware of the Safe Operating Procedures concerning relevant ROV and support equipment.
*Ensure regular safety training is given to all relevant personnel.
*Ensure regular safety inspections / meeting are carried out as per Company procedures.
*To become familiar with and to maintain awareness of Saipem's current requirements and where applicable, the latest Industry Codes and Standards including statutory rules and regulations.
*To ensure that all activities are carried out in a manner consistent with Saipem's policy on health, safety, quality and environmental matters in accordance with Saipem specific procedures.
*To ensure his/ her own safety and that of others is not compromised or placed at risk.
Maintenance:
*Maintain the ROV and support equipment.
*Ensure that all preventative maintenance and repair work is logged and filed as per the Company's Quality System and Operations Manual.
*Carry out servicing and maintenance of the ROV and associated equipment as required.
Assessment Training:
*Train and assess the team in all aspects of the ROV System, operation, maintenance, piloting, safe operating procedures, data recording and general operation requirements.
*Conduct appraisal interviews (in the role of appraiser) and complete all associated forms in line with the Company's policies and procedures.
System Modifications:
*Encourage any technical developments or suggestions that will enhance the overall technical and operational capabilities of the ROV system.
*Implement and organise ay approved modifications to the system, ensuring all changes are fully documented and included in the manual.
Inventory:
*Ensure the ROV system inventory is kept up to date and maintained as per the Offshore Inventory Control System (OCIS).
*Ensure that all necessary spare parts are available and fit for purpose.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
*Maintain close liaison with Vessel Superintendent and Safety Representative.
*Maintain daily contact with ROV Support Engineer in base
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Required
*Previous experience with relevant ROV Operations
