Spencer Ogden opens new office in Perth, Australia

25 October 2013 - 9:11AM
We have now expanding to a fifth continent with our 11th global office opening. The new office, based in Perth, Australia will be led by Ross Ellingham alongside a team of five other senior recruiters, a figure that is expected to increase rapidly over the coming months.

Spencer Ogden CEO, David Spencer-Percival says, “We’ve never shied away from the fact that we have an aggressive growth plan in place for our business. In less than four years we have gone from an unknown entity to one that has an influence in nearly every corner of the globe."

Ellingham, who takes on the title of Perth Manager, began his professional career in business management at a UK startup. Following this he travelled to Australia and entered into the recruitment industry working for Michael Page. There he specialised in recruitment for the mining sector and eventually became the company’s Mining and Resources Manager, placing him perfectly for the new role.

Ellingham has big plans for the new Spencer Ogden office, saying that “the initial plan is to concentrate on recruiting for the country's huge miningoil and gas and power markets. There is £40 billion of mining projects in the pipeline while the LNG sector has £90 billion worth of projects currently under way. These are both markets where hundreds of workers will be required in the coming years."

By Spring next year the office will host its first Graduate Academy where it expects to discover and train the future talent of the local energy recruitment industry, following the success of the Graduate Academies across our other global offices.

Spencer Ogden CEO, David Spencer-Percival says, “We are always looking to the future, Australia represents the latest step in our journey but we never pause to rest, we are always preparing for the next step and the one after that. While the launch of our Australian office comes near the end of what has been our busiest year to date, it’s not over yet, we still have more announcements to make and plans to put in place before Christmas.”
